Kettering Museum and Art Gallery
Kettering's treasure trove of local history exhibits and rich art collections are housed in the Manor House Museum and the Alfred East Art Gallery.
Covering the history of the borough and exploring what makes Kettering unique, the Manor House Museum is packed with fascinating objects from the worlds of archaeology, natural history, geology and costume. Topics include the boot and shoe industry, agriculture, and prehistoric fossils.
The Alfred East Art Gallery was originally built to house Sir Alfred East's painting collection, which he gave to the Borough of Kettering in 1910. It now holds a significant collection of 19th and 20th-century works by many notable British artists, including East and Thomas Cooper Gotch, both born in Kettering. The collection is a valuable resource for research and enjoyment, although not all the works are on display at once. The gallery also hosts temporary exhibitons of work by contemporary local artists.
Kettering Museum and Art Gallery has a full programme of events, including local history sessions, film nights, activities for children and families, talks and more.
