David Hockney’s ode to slow looking.
The National Gallery’s exhibition Hockney and Piero: A Longer Look brings together two Hockney paintings and Piero della Francesca’s The Baptism of Christ.
Hockney’s paintings My Parents and Looking at Pictures on a Screen are both from the National Gallery’s collection, a place Hockney knows and has loved throughout his career. The exhibition aims to invite viewers to slow down and spend a long time looking at the works of art, just as Hockney has done in the same building.
