Travel across British and Greek landscapes to discover the remarkable life of a rebellious artist.
Despite facing hardship and prejudice as a gay man, John Craxton passionately lived as an outcast, flaunting societal expectation, and resisting conformity. Marking the twists and turns in his life, A Modern Odyssey is a celebration of the British Romantic which chronicles his incredible journey from 1940s Britain to his adopted homeland in Greece.
Featuring paintings, poetic drawings and a wide range of designs, from book cover illustrations to theatre sets, the works include melancholic images of poets and sunlit landscapes, taking inspiration from archaeology, mythology and mosaics.
