The Art of Colour
Learn how colours and pigments have been discovered and invented.
Nantwich Museum’s artist, Les Pickford, will look at how colours and pigments have been discovered and invented from prehistoric times via medieval alchemists to modern laboratories, why some have exotic names and how the availability of colours prompted artistic and pseudo scientific theories about how they should be used.
This event is part of the ‘Wonders of Colour’ programme, supported by the Royal Society of Chemistry.
