Inspired by the museums exhibition Pippa Hale: Pet Project paint your own cat or dog figurine.

Feeling inspired by Pippa Hale: Pet Project? Join Mud & More Pottery to paint your own bisque cat or dog figurine, cast from 18th and 19th century objects in The Bowes Museum’s collection. Express your creativity within the exhibition space, draw inspiration from the colours and expressions of pet ceramics on display, and create your own unique cat or dog to take home.

Each piece will be fired off-site in Mud and More’s kiln and will be returned to the museum 3 weeks after your session. You’ll have three weeks from this return date to collect your unique creation.

Spaces are limited so booking is essential. Recommended for all ages under 14s must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Workshops will run every Saturday from 6 September – 28 February 2026 in the exhibition gallery.

All our sessions are SEND (special educational needs and disabilities) accessible and friendly but there are monthly sessions designed with SEND community in mind. Dates include Saturday 29 November and Saturday 30 December.
