ANGLO-SAXON LIFE – In Lichfield and Beyond
ANGLO-SAXON LIFE – In Lichfield and Beyond
Do you love history? Are you looking to learn something new this October?
This exploratory and fun history course touches on various aspects of Anglo-Saxon life, acting as a great introduction to the period.
Over the course of ten weeks, you will enjoy weekly lectures and discussions on a variety of topics, such as:
Archaeology
The early medieval Church
Old English writing and poetry
Medicine and Magic
The Viking incursions
Local history
Each week will start with a lecture on a different topic. Then, during and after a tea break, questions, discussions and wild tangents are all encouraged!
Aimed at all levels of knowledge – there is something for everyone.
The course is written and delivered by historian and public speaker Dr Charlotte Ball, who has her PhD in Early Medieval art and iconography from the University of Leicester.
You can pay for the 10 week course in advance or pay weekly. If you opt to pay weekly, once you have purchased the ticket for the first week, a payment link will be forwarded to you on the Thursday before each lecture.
