Enjoy a free day out with family and friends as we celebrate England’s largest festival of history, Heritage Open Days.
This year’s theme is Architecture, making the impressive French-style château nestled in the heart of Teesdale, County Durham the perfect place to celebrate it.
There’s a lively programme of creative and cultural activities for all ages taking place over the weekend, from artist-led workshops to themed tours offering rare behind-the-scenes access. There’ll be plenty to see and do both inside the museum and throughout the grounds. Be sure to catch the exhibitions, Pippa Hale: Pet Project and Joséphine: A Woman of Taste and Fashion, and discover striking new outdoor installations by Turner Prize-nominated artist Nathan Coley, and a special commission by Claire A Baker, one of Tees Valley’s 2024 Artists of the Year.
