The monthly meeting of our Young Archaeology Club (YAC) for 8-16 year olds.
Join in a real excavation at Hatchlands park, the National Trust property near to Guildford. We’ll be working together excavating the same trench so come prepared to get a little dirty and work with other archaeologists on site.
Parents are welcome to drop their children off and enjoy a walk around Hatchlands or stay and watch although there probably won’t be space for you to join in the digging.
Meeting point: Reception building near car park. I may change/ update this closer to the day.
For directions and parking information see the National Trust website: Hatchlands Park | Surrey | National Trust
Sign up for this session will close on Monday 12th May or when it is fully booked, whichever is sooner, as we need to provide a list of names in advance to the National Trust team.
What to wear/ bring:
· Strong footwear (no open toes)
· Water bottle
· Clothing suitable to the weather with spare layers just in case
· Gardening gloves if you prefer
· Archaeological trowel if you have one
