Talk

The Local Heritage Fire Service

15 November 2024
7-9.30pm

The history of the fire service in Britain, from Roman times to the present day. Factual and anecdotal presentation.

Factual and anecdotal presentation by two former paper mill firemen and members of the Frogmore Paper Mill Heritage Fire Brigade. Peter Hailes and Paul Sturman have a knowledge not just of fire, but of the history of the area which will astound you. Paul is a fourth generation fireman once based at Home Park paper mill, which once stood opposite Kings Langley Station.

The ticket price includes a fish and chip supper. Tea and coffee will be served.

The Tudor Room has one flight of stairs and no lift up to it, in this Heritage Building. Apologies if this precludes some attending. This talk is held at The Cottage, Apsley Mills, Stationers Place, HP3 9RL.

This listing is supplied by one of our museum partners and is not moderated by Art Fund.
