Lucy T. Smith, an internationally award-winning botanical artist, has documented plant diversity through her art and scientific illustrations for over thirty years, including twenty-four years as a freelance artist for the Royal Botanic Gardens Kew, which holds hundreds of her works. Her exceptional talent is featured in numerous scientific journals, and she currently leads botanical illustration courses at Kew Gardens.

In this one-day workshop, Lucy will teach the techniques of botanical art and illustration. Participants will sketch seasonal flowers from the Walled Garden, both indoors and outdoors, and learn to create realistic drawings enhanced with watercolour. Techniques will include measured drawing, perspective, plant structure, and colour mixing.
