Samuel Beckett’s play 'Waiting for Godot' comes to Norton Priory, courtesy of Victoria Music Limited.
Popular community theatre group VML returns to Norton Priory Museum and Gardens with the classic play ‘Waiting for Godot’, written by Samuel Beckett.
Two characters, Vladimir and Estragon, wait by a tree for the arrival of Godot. While they wait, they pass the time with conversations, arguments and discussions about the meaning and absurdity of life. Occasionally other characters pass by the tree, inspiring further discussions and interaction.
Over the years VML have delighted audiences with quality theatre performances at Norton Priory at affordable prices and accessible to all. Waiting for Godot is a longer play aimed at an audience aged 12 and above but as this is a Discover Sunday, performances are free with general admission price.
The play will be performed in our medieval Undercroft. Performances are at 2.30pm and 7pm and the museum and grounds will stay open till 7pm for the evening performance. The Walled Garden will be open from 12pm till 4pm only. Refreshments will be on sale during the interval for the evening performance.
