Join us to celebrate the opening of Carey Bennett’s new screen-print exhibition with an artist’s talk and Babycham toast.

Memory & Remedy: Artist Talk & Toast: Memory & Remedy is an exciting new exhibition hosted at the Museum of Brands with British artist Carey Bennett. The screen-print exhibiton, running alongside this event, depicts vivid recollections of everyday brands through a bold colour palette and integrated typography.

The objects shown in Memory & Remedy are inspired by the artist's personal associations with childhood sickness and at-home remedies given by her parents. Since the diagnosis of both parents with dementia, the caregiving roles are reversed but the objects continue to be remedial to their relationship, even as the brands evolve. Several of the heritage brands Bennett has chosen are represented in the Brand Histories exhibition running concurrently in the Museum's Branding Hall space.

During this artist's talk and toast, Carey will discuss her inspirations and process, followed by a toast for attendees supplied by Babycham.

Museum of Brands: The Museum of Brands is the world's only museum dedicated to consumer history. We show 200 years of brands, packaging and advertising through the permanent exhibition the ‘Time Tunnel’ created by consumer historian Robert Opie. The Museum also presents temporary exhibitions, talks, webinars and workshops, to create and debate ideas and examine the role of brands in history and the modern world. We have a subtropical garden, and a Museum gift shop and cafe for visitors to enjoy.

Your Ticket: By purchasing a ticket, you are also purchasing entry to the Museum's Time Tunnel and other temporary exhibitions. You are welcome to explore these before or after the Artist Talk at your own leisure.

Venue Information: The Museum of Brands is located in Lancaster road, close to the bustle of Portobello road. Travel by Circle or Hammersmith & City line to Ladbroke Grove, central line to Notting Hill Gate or local buses. For more information on the venue, please see our webpage.

Accessibility: Please email us in advance of any requirements, so we can be sure your visit is as comfortable as possible. The Museum has a cloakroom, wheelchair available to borrow, step-free access and guide dogs welcome. For more information on Accessibility, please see our webpage.
