City of London Churches walking tour with Alexandra Epps
A day of guided walks exploring the wealth of stained glass within the historic churches of the unique square mile of the City of London. We will explore windows both old and modern created by a series of remarkable artists and craftsmen in a variety of styles. Discover unique stained glass stories of people, time and place.
Timings and further details
Walking distances: All sites are less than half a mile from one another, so max. 5-10min walks in between sites.
Meeting point: St Lawrence Jewry, Guildhall Yard EC2V 5AA (nearest underground stations Bank, St Pauls). Coffee, tea and biscuits will be available from 10.30am. The tour will commence at 11am
Lunch: please note there will be a break for lunch 12.30-1.30pm. Lunch is not included but there are plenty of cafes and places to eat a packed lunch.
End point: we will finish in Cornhill by 3.30pm Audio headsets will be used during this tour. Attendees are more than welcome to bring their own headphones/earbuds if they should wish to. Binoculars are also welcome.
Alexandra Epps is a qualified Guide to the City of London offering walks and talks about many aspects of the arts, an accredited lecturer for The Arts Society and official guide at Tate Modern, Tate Britain and the Guildhall Art Gallery. Alexandra's background is in design having practised as a graphic designer running her own design consultancy for many years.
