Learn metalwork techniques to create your own keyring or pendant.
Learners will work with artist Jim Bond to create a keyring or pendant inspired by the Knives into Jewels exhibition. They will work with copper, aluminum and steel and learn a variety of cold metal working techniques. Copper will be pre annealed so it is soft and malleable and easy to work.
Using tools provided they will grind, sand, punch and roll the metal. They will learn the differences between the two metals and how to join them using rivets. They will be able to use letter punches to write messages or names onto the surface of the metal. The copper, aluminum and steel sheet pieces will be riveted together to create a stunning keyring or pendant to take home.
