Workshop - Gamification in Advertising & Marketing

Museum of Brands, London

Gamification, and play more broadly, have transformed brand experiences and consumer engagement for businesses worldwide. Hosted by gamification expert and author, Betty Adamou, join us in this fun session and see how brands from KFC to Kim Kardashian have successfully used games to captivate and motivate audiences. Attendees will get to design their very own ‘AdverGame’ too! Don’t miss out! Please note the workshop will start at 10:30 am. We invite you to visit the Museum from 9:30 am and you will have the chance to meet other attendees and enjoy some refreshments.

See examples of both 'Serious Games' and 'Gamification' in Marketing, with micro case studies from a range of brands, including well-known companies and celebrity figures

Explore how digital gamified marketing campaigns and ‘AdverGames’ collect consumer data, and how that data can be used for commercial gain

Explore the ethical ramifications of AdverGame design and data-collection methods

Understand the benefits and drawbacks of using game-based Marketing

Understand how brands are using playful experiences to offer a lure back to the high street after COVID and engage consumers online

Each attendee will be given 20 minutes to storyboard design their very own Marketing Game for a charitable cause, based on a project brief, in teams.

Each group, or individual attendee, will present their designs to the room in a 2-minute ‘elevator pitch’; showcasing their design idea and how it answers the project brief in a fun and interactive group activity.
