Kendal Mountain Festival event

Discover the story behind the work of artist Julie Brook. As part of Kendal Mountain Festival artist Julie Brook and writer Robert Macfarlane will be in conversation discussing all things art and landscape.

Brook and Macfarlane will discuss Brook’s current exhibition What is it That Will Last? at Abbot Hall (on until 30 December), uncovering the artist’s motivations and themes which inspire her immersive landscape work. Julie’s book What Is It That Will Last? will be available to purchase at the Abbot Hall shop over the Festival Weekend. Published by Lund Humphries, the book contains examples of Macfarlane’s essays alongside details of Brook’s all-encompassing art practice. There will be an exclusive book signing taking place during the event.

As well as this, you will have the opportunity to find out more about how Brook’s work relates to the work of Halima Cassell and Jocelyn McGregor as part of the Women, Land and Art talk series.

Included with the admission ticket is access to the exhibition.

Book your tickets through the Kendal Mountain Festival website.
