Artist, poet and filmmaker Amanda Holiday will lead this half day workshop for adults, exploring the intersection of poetry and art.
Suited to all ability levels, participants will take inspiration from the exhibition Double Weave: Bourne and Allen’s Modernist Textiles to explore a form of visual poetry.
After visiting the exhibition, there will be a chance to discuss some of the key textile pieces, before going on to experiment with charcoal to recreate a favourite piece of clothing or fabric, real, imagined, past or present to share with group.
In the second part of the workshop, we’ll read and discuss poems about clothes, textiles and our relationship to them, and then go on to create a poem inspired by an item of clothing, to share with the group.
