As part of the museum's 10th birthday celebrations, you are invited on a walk around the village to explore the fascinating life of Hilary Bourne, the co-founder of Ditchling Museum of Art + Craft.

Hilary was born in India in 1909 and came to Ditchling at the age of three. In 1983, and in her seventies, she and her sister Joanna saved the Victorian village school from development and created Ditchling Museum.

This walk takes you back to the village where the sisters grew up, more than 100 years ago, and then several decades forward to the place they returned to in later life - some parts are changed, others remain remarkably similar.

We hope you will enjoy following in Hilary’s footsteps and discovering the village she knew.

The walk is approximately 1.5 miles - it's mostly on pavements with a short stretch on a footpath/bridleway.

If you require more details on the specifics of the walk or to discuss your access requirements, please get in touch.
