An experimental workshop with Chloe Cheese inspired by Edward Bawden’s illustrations for “English as She is Spoke”.
● Tea, coffee and biscuits provided. ● Please bring a packed lunch, wear old clothes/an apron. ● A sun hat/umbrella, sketching stool if you have one ● Suitable for all abilities. ● A variety of drawing, painting and printing materials provided. ● Limited to 12 students
At Fairycroft I will give an introduction to how I work from sketches adding colour using collage and stencilled elements. We will walk down to visit The Fry Art Gallery to examine “English as She is Spoke” and related works and to draw in and around Bridge End Gardens and Castle Street for an hour, weather permitting. After lunch at Fairycroft we will produce 2 or 3 finished drawings A4/ A3 size each finishing with a group discussion.
