The Reverend Canon Adrian Daffern: ‘Rubrics for Royalty: the story of the Coronation Service in 2023’
Canon Adrian Daffern was commissioned by the Archbishop of Canterbury to be the principal author of the revised Coronation service used for HM the King on May 6 this year.
In this lecture Adrian will give put the newly revised service in its historical context, referring to many of the unique items held in Lambeth Palace Library. In addition, we will hear something of the story of how a Coronation service is revised and rewritten, as well as some stories from inside the processes of planning and delivery.
