Earth Day: Falconry and Family Fun

Nature in Art, Gloucester
22 April 2023
10am - 5pm
Included in general admission

Come and join us as we celebrate Earth Day, with many activities to get involved in, from making insect hotels to feathery bird masks and much more.

JRCS Falconry will be joining us to show a magnificent selection of Birds of Prey. There will be short talks throughout the day and the opportunity to get close to these impressive birds.

Also happening during the day: Take part in a scavenger hunt in the garden and enter the raffle. Artist, Trevor Smith, will be sketching the Birds of Prey and there will be a chance to learn how to draw a bird yourself.

These family activities are linked to The Wild Escape, an initiative aiming to engage young people with the UK’s natural environment through art. Activities will also relate to birds and to the theme of Earth Day 2023: Invest in our Planet.

Your entry to the family day also includes admission to the rest of the museum.

Be part of The Wild Escape, a nationwide celebration of UK nature inspired by the wildlife found in museum and galleries. The Wild Escape is made possible with support from Arts Council England’s National Lottery Project Grants, with additional support from Bloomberg Philanthropies, Kusuma Trust, Foyle Foundation and a group of generous individuals and trusts.
