Art Everywhere creates the world's largest art show
Over 22,000 poster sites will feature 57 British masterpieces over the next two weeks to create a massive outdoor exhibition of the nation’s favourite works of art.
Art Everywhere will take over your streets, bus stops, car parks, rail stations, supermarkets, shopping malls, cinemas, health clubs and bars to create the world's largest art show from 12 to 25 August. With an expected reach of 90% of the UK's adult population, cities, towns and villages across England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland will see advertising spaces transformed into beautiful works of art in what will become a huge, nationwide celebration of British art.

Top ten British masterpieces chosen
The public were invited to help select the final list of works to go display by 'liking' their favourites through Facebook. After several weeks of debate and discussion and 30,000 likes later a list of 57 British masterpieces were chosen to feature in the project. The top ten British masterpieces selected by the public range from Waterhouse’s The Lady of Shalott at number 1 to Cornelia Parker’s Cold Dark Matter at number 10. You can visit many of the top ten across UK museums this summer or simply spot them at your local bus stop.
The UK poster industry generously gave the project £3 million worth of advertising space for the two week period, and money was raised through crowdfunding for the paper and print to convert the billboards into works of art. Over 1000 individual donations from people around the world were received which has paid for the production costs for the project.

Art Everywhere is a collaborative project between Richard Reed, (co-founder of Innocent Drinks), the Art Fund, Tate, and the poster industry. Working with Posterscope and Vizeum, the poster industry has donated tens of thousands of sites; media owners involved include Clearchannel, CBS Outdoor, JC Decaux , Ocean and Primesight. Partnering creative agency, 101 generously supplied all the design including those for every poster and billboard.
