Judges head to Hepworth Wakefield
The Museum of the Year judges get back on the road to experience the gallery's contemporary art programme and rarely seen works by Barbara Hepworth.
Judges Sarah Crompton, Bob and Roberta Smith, Bettany Hughes and chair Stephen Deuchar enjoyed several hours exploring the permanent galleries dedicated to the work and techniques of sculptor Barbara Hepworth, spaces used for the gallery's creative contemporary art exhibition programme and its learning rooms. Over 385,000 visitors have experienced the diverse programme of exhibitions, collection displays, events and free drop-in activities in 2012, with more than 830,950 visitors welcomed to date since the gallery opened in May 2011.
