Bond auction raises £10,000 for Art Fund

Going, going, Bond! An auction at Christie's celebrating 50 years of the Bond franchise raised thousands of pounds for charities, including the Art Fund.

Art Fund trustee and James Bond producer Michael G Wilson hosted a glittering charity auction of Bond memorabilia to celebrate 50 years of the iconic spy films.

The publisher TASCHEN generously donated The James Bond Archives by Paul Duncan – A Collector's Edition to the auction and the proceeds have been awarded to the Art Fund.

The book, which was the result of two years of research by editor Paul Duncan in EON Productions' archives, exceeded the guide price of £1,200 and raised an impressive £10,000 for the Art Fund.

The collector’s edition contained a wealth of previously unpublished photography and artwork, as well as production memos from filming and was signed by stars Daniel Craig and Dame Judi Dench.

A pair of swim shorts worn by Daniel Craig in Casino Royale, an Aston Martin driven in Quantum of Solace and a Tom Ford suit worn in the new Bond film Skyfall were among the memorabilia also sold off for a range of charities including the Science Museum and UNICEF.
