Wrest Park was home to the De Grey family from the 13th century until 1917. The magnificent gardens are celebrated for their rare survival of a formal 18th-century layout of wooded walks and canals, and for their fine collection of sculpture. The present house was completed in 1839, and has some of the earliest Rococo revival interiors in England. The Italian and Rose Gardens have recently been restored. New exhibitions in the mansion and garden buildings tell the story of the estate.
