Dates: Thursday 7 February, 2008 - Sunday 27 April, 2008
Information:
Around 120 prints and photomontages help trace the development of Rodchenko's photography over two decades from the 1920's, when he first became deeply involved in the art.
He rejected painting and sculpture in favour of a medium he believed would be capable of addressing a wider audience.
His distinctive approach resulted in unusual camera angles and close-ups, and his photographs continue to be influential today.
The show also examines his designs for magazines, book covers and film posters, and sets his work in the context of the social and political life of the Soviet Union.
