The brooch is made from a face of gold sheet with gold filigree, garnets in cloisons, and garnets and glass set en cabochon in bosses.

The brooch bears an inscription: 'Luda repaired this brooch'. The whole hoard includes about 33 items including 3 gold pendants, 2 silver coins, silver wire loops, a silver toilet set; an iron belt buckle incorporating an inlaid garnet on the tongue and a silver sheet zoomorphic terminal with glass eyes.
Provenance
The Harford Farm Anglo-Saxon cemetery, near Norwich, Norfolk. The cemetery was excavated and recorded by Norfolk Archaeological Unit, 1989-1991.
