She wears a scarlet riding habit, with her left arm resting on the head of a light bay horse, a dark horse stands behind with a groom. Dogs in the foreground. To the right distance, a mounted groom leads a horse. Work by Zoffany, Gilpin and Farington.
Commissioned by Henry Styleman on his marriage 1780 to Mary Gregg. By descent through Styleman L'Strange family to Bernard L'Strange. Sold through Leger Gallery, London to Lady Ann Thompson, descendant of L'Estrange family & mother of present vendor.
