Relief of Adam and Eve by Medieval (French)

The carving is said to have been found during excavations in the Forum at Arles on the site of a Romanesque church dating from around the 12th century.

The style of the relief is rather similar, especially in the treatment of the tree, to that of a representation of the same subject on the West front of the Cathedral at Nimes, which is dated in the second half of the 12th century.
