George, in golden armour with a red tunic and gorgeous striped blue coat, is resting after slaying the dragon. He enfolds the kneeling Princess with his arms, as she cuts off a lock of her dark hair to bind on the crest of his helmet. The dragon's head stands grotesquely in a box. In the background is a hedge of flowers, with two attendant angels with purple and green wings playing on bells. A quilted seat is decorated with armorial bearings.
