Towneley Hall Art Gallery and Museum

Towneley Hall dates from the 13th century and is situated in over 24 acres of parkland in southwest Burnley.

The hall contains period rooms including an Elizabethan long gallery and Victorian kitchen. The top floor of the main house holds the art galleries, with displays of oils and watercolours. A museum of local history, originally a brew house, is situated to the rear of the Hall. Entry to the local history museum is free.

In spring 2014 the hall opened new galleries devoted to the decorative arts, touring exhibitions and local wildlife.
