Overlooking the River Thames in a woodland setting, Orleans House Gallery, home of the borough's Arts Service, provides art for everyone with a changing programme of historical and contemporary exhibitions.
The collection comprises over 2,400 paintings and prints dating from the 18th century to the present day. The Baroque Octagon Room was designed by James Gibbs in the early 18th century. The buildings and site were sensitively transformed through Heritage Lottery Funded development work between 2006 and 2008.
