Anglesey’s main gallery tells the story of the island and provides a special space for the display of Welsh art.
The History Gallery presents the island's past through sound, imagery, reconstructions and displays of real objects. There is also a dynamic programme of modern and contemporary art exhibitions based on the collections and important loans from elsewhere.
The gallery has the most complete collection of the work of wildlife artist Charles Tunnicliffe, who lived on Anglesey and recorded its animals and birds in his paintings and measured drawings. It also holds the world’s largest collection of paintings by local artist Sir Kyffin Williams, whose landscapes capture the changing moods of the Welsh countryside.
Works by leading craft makers are on sale in the shop, which also offers gifts, toys, cards and books of local interest. The café prides itself on homemade food, including vegetarian meals and cakes.
