Explore 2,000 years of Chester's cultural heritage.
The museum holds the largest and most comprehensive collection of Chester silver, and the internationally important archaeological collection includes a display of Roman tombstones. The historic and contemporary fine art celebrates half a millennium of artistic practice and patronage in the region, while the period room displays chart changing fashions in the domestic interior. Other displays include costume and natural history, and there is a wide-ranging programme of exhibitions and events.
