Surveying the British artist's practice from the 1980s to the present day.
Beattie is known for producing large scale abstract works which – through components such as tunnels, steps and ladders – explore the possibilities of pictorial space. His work is inspired by American painters he first encountered in the 1950s, particularly the work of Mark Rothko, Philip Guston and Willem de Kooning.
