A small but outstanding collection specialising in paintings, sculpture, drawings and prints produced in Britain 1890-1940, including works by Aubrey Beardsley, Walter Sickert, Wilson Steer, Lucien Pissarro, Augustus John, Stanley Spencer, Percy Wyndham Lewis and Ben Nicholson as well as sculpture by Jacob Epstein, Eric Gill, Henri Gaudier-Brzeska and Henry Moore. The Camden Town and Bloomsbury artists are well represented. Cartoons and costume designs are also included. Also on display are the two Thompson collections of Chinese Ceramics, and occasional loan exhibitions.
