Following a period of closure, the museum will reopen in early 2012 with a new street entrance and refurbished ground floor galleries. Cambridge University’s collections of local antiquities, together with archaeological and ethnographic artefacts, represent all continents, with hundreds of fascinating and unusual items on display. Highlights include material from Captain Cook’s voyages; artefacts of British folklore and over 100,000 field photographs and negatives.
