Carlisle’s premier visitor attraction has one of the largest purpose-built contemporary art galleries in the north of England and hosts exhibitions of regional, national and international importance. Set in beautiful gardens, Old Tullie House is a Grade I listed building, and is home to a nationally important collection of Pre-Raphaelite art. Visit the recently opened Roman Frontier Gallery, which promotes the western end of Hadrian’s Wall. The archaeological collection features objects from the Old Stone Age, through the Roman, Celt, Viking and Middle Ages.
