The collections at the Stewartry Museum relate to the human and natural history of the eastern half of Galloway. The permanent exhibition includes the 'Siller Gun' – Britain’s earliest surviving sporting trophy – and works by Kirkcudbright artists including Jessie M King. The museum holds a local history library and archive collections forming a valuable resource for family and local history research. There is also an extensive photographic archive for the Stewartry.
