Displays focus on the local history of Swaffham and the surrounding areas, featuring Roman and Anglo-Saxon archaeology, the Civil War and an unusual collection of finds from prehistoric times to the present day. There is also a gallery dedicated to Howard Carter and his discovery of the tomb of Tutankhamun, with an interactive tomb reconstruction. Public access to the Local History Room with registers of births, marriages and burials plus the Harry Carter Town Model is now available.
