Housed in Henry II’s Orford Castle (owned by English Heritage), the museum records Orford’s prominence as a medieval borough and port, and the changing shape of the offshore shingle spit Orford Ness, formerly used for military testing and now a nature reserve. The collection exists thanks to the sustained efforts of local people, and a virtual museum is viewable in Orford Church.
