The application process for the Museum of the Year 2013 has now opened and we'd love you, the museum goer, to tell us which institution has demonstrated excellence, originality, innovation and imagination in the way it has brought its collections to life for visitors. The £100,000 prize will be awarded in recognition of the exceptional achievements of a museum or gallery in 2012 across of its activities.

By telling us which museum or gallery has inspired and engaged you over the past year, you'll be helping us make sure all institutions that have been doing brilliant things are given the chance to apply.

Our panel of judges will announce the 10 finalists in early April and the winner will be revealed on 4 June.
