Queuing visitors at Birmingham Museum and Galleries Joint display signals return of Anglo-Saxon hoard, 10th March 2010

A selection of 59 items from the Staffordshire Hoard will be on display in Birmingham from 13 March 2010. The items from the world's largest hoard of Anglo-Saxon treasure include helmet fragments with animal decorations and warriors, previously unseen in Birmingham, and a crumpled gold cross and a red garnet stud.

The Art Fund today announces that it has embarked upon an exciting new venture - the creation of a national collection of recent Middle Eastern photography, to be owned jointly by the V&A and the British Museum.

A stunning, luminously coloured new sculpture has been installed in its new home at The McManus: Dundee's Art Gallery and Museum, to mark the building's £12 million refurbishment.   

Their Royal Highnesses The Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall Hoard receives Royal visit on the day that fundraising total reaches £820,000, 19th February 2010

This morning, the Prince of Wales became the first Royal to handle the Staffordshire Hoard in 1,400 years. The Royal visit coincides with news received by The Art Fund that the Staffordshire Hoard campaign fundraising total has now reached £820,000.
