The centre houses a series of detailed scale models depicting archaeological sites. See ritual henges, crannogs, round houses, Roman forts, medieval castles and a unique model of a bastle house (a 17th-century defensive farmhouse). The upper gallery focuses on recent history, with costume, samplers, silver, local works of art, photography and memorabilia.
