Art Fund International is aimed at developing collections of international contemporary art within UK regional museums and galleries working in partnership with at least one other organisation with expertise in contemporary visual art. The scheme is designed to fund 100% grants towards the acquisition of works of art.
The application process is in two stages. In the first stage, we are inviting Expressions of Interest from institutions who wish to participate in the scheme. The deadline for submitting Expressions of Interest is noon, Friday 22 June 2007 but any institution wishing to participate is asked to contact The Art Fund as soon as possible.
Partnerships will need to outline in no more than 1000 words:
° The institutions in the partnership
° The area of international
contemporary art they wish to collect
° Any other support they believe they
may need to deliver the scheme
They should also include an indicative timetable and budget, and a signed letter of support from each of the partnership members.
For full information regarding scheme aims, how to apply, eligibility and a detailed timetable please download our document Call for Expressions of Interest (PDF).
The Art Fund will consider these proposals and will invite a selection of these applicants to proceed to the second stage. At this point applicants will be required to submit a fully detailed proposal, to be received by 28 August 2007.
Any museum or gallery accredited with the MLA other than those in London and Edinburgh is eligible to participate. Partner institutions will most likely be local to the collecting institution but can be located anywhere, including London and Edinburgh.
Applicants should note that taking part in this scheme will not affect other applications to The Art Fund under its other grants schemes from the same institution.
