The permanent exhibition gallery of this local history museum focuses on the development of the town and port of Goole, while a temporary exibition programme in the second gallery features art, craft, photography and social history. The collections include builders’ models of vessels built in Goole, or which sailed from the town; historic photographs of the port, town and hinterland; and a significant number of paintings by local ship portraitist Reuben Chappell, as well as work by other Pierhead Painters.
