Built c 1790 for the West India sugar merchant John Pinney, the Georgian House is furnished and displayed in the fashion of the times. Four of the six floors are open, featuring period rooms and giving an insight into life above and below stairs. A cold water plunge bath is an unusual feature. A small display looks at Pinney’s involvement with slavery on his sugar plantations.
