A 17th-century Grade 1 listed townhouse, retaining many of its original features, including decorative wrought ironwork on the windows, an elaborately carved wooden staircase of fruit and flowers and exquisite decorative plaster ceilings.

The collection itself includes a variety of artworks, including many fine paintings and prints mostly from the 19th and 20th centuries. Largely known for a significant colelction of society portraits, mostly in pastel with some oils, by Guildford-born artist John Russell (1745-1806).
