A recent makeover has seen Museums Sheffield: Graves Gallery, the home of Sheffield’s art collection, refurbished and repainted. New displays take visitors from the 16th to the 21st century and include work by famous names such as Turner, Cézanne, Sargent, Burne-Jones and local heroes George Fullard and Derrick Greaves. The main trends and movements are explored through work by artists from Pablo Picasso and Pierre Bonnard to Sir Stanley Spencer and Helen Chadwick. In the contemporary gallery are Sheffield’s most recently acquired works: Marc Quinn’s Kiss and Sam Taylor-Wood’s Self Portrait Suspended VII.
