Tate Modern is Britain’s national gallery of international modern art. The gallery was created and housed in a disused power station in 2000; it displays international art of the 20th and 21st centuries, including important masterpieces from Picasso and Matisse.
The gallery boasts one of the world's finest museum collections of Surrealism, including works by Dali, Ernst, Magritte and Miro. Also on display are Pollock, Rothko, Giacometti, Lichtenstein and Warhol. Recent special exhibitions have included Frida Kahlo and Henri Rousseau.
